Why Plan Your Instagram Feed? šŸ§

Itā€™s the first thing that people see when they visit your page. Duh! Think of your feed as a store. You donā€™t want someone to see a messy, disorganized feed. You want people to see something well-curated and interesting to look at.
When you plan your feed in advance, you can create something more consistent with your brand, and more aesthetically pleasing, and, trust us, if you have all those things, people will want to follow you and engage!
Using Flickā€™s Scheduler will help you preview, rearrange, and organize your feed before you hit that auto-publish button.

So youā€™re trying to figure out how in the world you plan your Instagram account?
Follow these steps and we promise youā€™ll have all the tools you need to create a beautiful and curated Instagram feed:

1. Gather your Instagram content

First things first, you need CONTENT. Like, duh. Gather all of the images, videos, and Reels that you want to post on your Instagram. One of our top tips for a curated feed is to make sure the image and video content go together, so editing them in a similar filter or preset can be helpful to fit your brandā€™s aesthetic.
Looking for some presets to help your brand? Check out this blog post.
But if you donā€™t care about everything looking the same, skip the filter and collect all the content you want to post! Donā€™t have enough content to fill in the gaps? Why not try some stock photos? Here are some of our favorite stock photo websites to help curate your feed.

2. Organize the perfect Instagram Feed

Now that you have all of your content gathered, itā€™s time to start planning what your feed is actually going to look like. One of the best ways to do that? By using a planner!
With Flickā€™s Feed Preview, you can upload all of your content and place it in the feed to see what it would look like before you post. Feed Preview makes it very easy for you to rearrange, upload, and swap out photos and videos by dragging and dropping the content into place.

But Mackenzie, why should we schedule our content? Well, it helps you stay consistent with your content and makes your audience want to engage ā€¦ which means more reach and, therefore, more growth on your account!

How to schedule Instagram posts using Flick āœ…

To schedule a post using Flick, youā€™ll need to have your Facebook account connected to the app (if youā€™re already subscribed, this should be the case anyway!).
You can then navigate to the post scheduler, where you should see a blank calendar, just asking for content to be scheduled into it.

You can view the calendar by week or by month, and you are also able to drag and drop media to create a library of content to choose from. Once youā€™ve scheduled a post, you can filter by ā€œusedā€ and ā€œunusedā€ content, in case you happen to be a little forgetful.
Within the scheduler, to create a post, just navigate to the calendar and tap ā€œNew Post.ā€ You can also just drag a piece of content from the library into the calendar where youā€™d like it scheduled for.

From here, you can select which platforms you want to create your post for. You can either select one platform or create a ā€˜multi-platformā€™ post if you repurpose content across your different accounts. Currently, you can schedule for Facebook and Instagram ā€“ but TikTok, Twitter, and LinkedIn will be coming soon!
Here, you can get crafty with your caption and import your saved hashtags from Collections you have already created in Flick (which are optimized to your account for the highest chance of Reach and eyes on your posts). More on how to find hashtags that will actually grow your account, here.

Once youā€™ve drafted up your caption, you can edit your thumbnail (if posting a video), trim your video, and tag other accounts. This is also where you can insert a location tag, or schedule a first comment depending on where you publish your hashtags. From here, you can schedule your post, or save it as a draft (useful if you donā€™t yet have the content to publish yet, and youā€™re using a placeholder).
Flick will show you your best times to post according to your account when you select a date and time for your post to go out and will notify you whether the post will be auto-published or scheduled via a push notification.
If for any reason your post cannot be scheduled, we will let you know via email or notification, so you can always stay on top of your account. Even if you select your content to go out on ā€œauto,ā€ you will still be sent a notification when itā€™s gone live, so you can check it out, and edit anything you might want to change.
In case you run multiple accounts, you can also link these to Flick in order to switch between accounts, keeping all your scheduling calendars in one place.

How to write Instagram content in advance šŸ“

Being able to write Instagram content and captions in advance is a necessity if youā€™re a social media manager or small business owner. Youā€™ve got a million and one other things on your plate to focus on, so being able to plan ahead of the game is crucial. So ā€¦ how can you do that in an effective way?
An AI tool is one of our favorite ways to do just that.

Using a tool like Flickā€™s AI Social Media Assistant will help you get a week, month, quarter, or even a yearā€™s worth of content and caption ideas in seconds. Yes, seconds.
We recommend going through your analytics and figuring out what content people liked from you in the past and making a note of it. What things did they save? Did they share any of your content? Anything they commented on a lot?
From there, you can have Flickā€™s AI Assistant repurpose that same content into more posts on the same topic. You already know your audience likes it, so why not use that to your advantage?
You can also use Flickā€™s AI Assistant to help you create content that is completely fresh. All you need to do is type in a topic or keyword, and the AI Assistant will do the hard work for you. It will come up with post ideas that you can expand on and will even help you write captions and hashtags that are tailored perfectly to your brand voice. šŸ˜
The best part? Once all of your content is created from start to finish with our AI Assistant, you can schedule the content with a single click of a button. Yeah, it truly is that easy.
